Gregory Watson

Greg is the Owner and Head Coach of Roll One Jiu Jitsu Academy. He started his Jiu Jitsu jouney in his home town of Dunedin, with now 4th Degree Black Belt Johnny Gui, in 2007. Jiu Jitsu has taken Greg across the World for training, in countries such as, Brazil, Spain, Australia and Korea.

Greg opened the doors of Roll One in 2016 after returning from living in Brazil.

He had a the honor of receiving his Black Belt in 2019 from Leo Viera, Head of Checkmat HQ, at his own gym here in Christchurch.

• Gold in IBJJF Tokyo Open
• Gold in IBJJF Sydney Open
• Gold in Melbourne Open
• Silver in NZGrappler Nationals 
• Silver in IBJJF Korean Open
• Silver in Rio de Janeiro Pro
• Silver in Sao Paulo Open
• Bronze in IBJJF Pan Pacific Championships

When not on the mats, you will find Greg out with his fluffy Sidekick Miho. He also enjoys Snowboarding in winter and Surfing or Bodyboarding in Summer.
